I've created this thread so that users can share some of the hidden gems in their playlists that aren't mainstream or very large yet but present a great deal of talent. I find there's a lot of great talent and music out there that goes unheard due to saturation of the mainstream audio channels by those who can guarantee a money return. So let's give a shout out to those hard working folks who do it for their love of music.

For me the two main that come to mind are Shad and Above & Beyond (although Above and Beyond might be huge in Europe... they're relatively unknown here in Canada.

Shad is a rapper who raps for the every day man and shares his views on the world rather than sharing how much more he owns than you. He's down to Earth and his lyrics are very easy to relate to. He does cite the Bible quite a bit but he tunes it enough to not make his songs come off as preachy. In the end I find music is all about interpretation. It only comes off as religious as you want it to.

Recommended Songs: "Exile", "The old prince still lives at home", "Compromise", "I'll never Understand", "We, Myself and I", "Now A Daze"

Above and Beyond are a trance group that make some pretty interesting music. They're brilliant at evoking an emotion just through sound, which I find many other trance artists simply cannot do.

Recommended Songs: "World on Fire", "Pacific", "Oceanic", "Miracle", "Air for Life"

So what are some of your less known artists and some songs from them?
