My internet is the same, so I am more beastly. 
Honestly, I think 2 things happened - my reflection time is better and I learned the maps and hiding places, where people mostly plant Claymores and so forth.
I still do badly ocasionally, but most of the time I have a k/d ratio > 1
@HideoK - It does seem pretty sweet. I wasnt planning on getting it, but now I dont know lol.
