Anyone but Obama isn't going to work. Anyone but Bush with Kerry didn't work. No guarantee Jindal will be able to do anything either. The point about Palin being brought up, is she is like the lead celebrity of the Tea Party and is horrible as a choice. You have number of GOP insiders who have said she isn't a good candidate, and that was before she quit her position as governor. If people want to discuss Obama not have any chance of a second term, they need to discuss candidates that would have a shot of actually being liked. The GOP needs to come up with someone who can help salvage the GOP brand. But, it still may be too early. 2016 may end up being the spot, because the field will be wide open then for the Democrats. |
That's not how it's going to go down. Obama is very much hated by the independent crowd. For Obama to win, he needs to do one of two things. Win them back, or somehow energize his base so wildly, that ever Democrat votes.
Democrats today are dejected, so the later is not going to happen. For him to win back independents, he will need to look like the lesser of two evils.
If he can't convince the independents that the other guys is so bad you would want anyone before that guy, he has no shot.
by the way: I predicted Obama the winner, on this site, of 2008 before he won the primaries. I hated him as much then as I do now.
My prediction has nothing to do with how I feel about the man. It's just statistics.
