The games I'm interested in on the Wii are too expensive. They also lack any decent online components and they are not in HD. Twilight Princess is a Gamecube port that came out nearly 4 years ago on the Wii and it still costs $70 pre-owned and $99 new http://www.ebgames.com.au/search?title=zelda&platform=wii. Mario Kart is still $99. Super Mario Galaxy is still $80. New Super Mario Bros is still $98 http://www.ebgames.com.au/search?title=mario. Red Steel 2 is the only decent game I might want to buy and it's going for $49 http://www.jbhifi.com.au/games/nintendo/wii/. In the last few weeks I bought Heavy Rain for $35, Just Cause 2 for $45, Sega Super Stars Tennis for $5, The Saboteur for $18, Brutal Legend for $15 and the DJ Hero kit for $46. All those game are for my PS3 and they cost much less than the listed prices of all the good Wii games. In Australia the software for the Nintendo Wii is too expensive, I was a customer once and I was not satisfied. |
LIke I said right time right place. It takes effort to find games on Wii. Which means you have to have money saved up and ready to buy. Otherwise you miss out and end up paying full price or not getting it at all.
I bought Mario Kart for $74. New Super Mario Bros for $69 at K-Mart.
The problem here is that EB and Game have too much control of the market. So they don't lower prices. Game usally has 6 monthly sales, I bout a lot of Wii games for under $50. Other stores like K-Mart etc.. do lower prices, however they don't stock that many great games and if they do it is only for a short period of time.
JB hifi do crazy stuff like one week game is full price then when a sale is on it is half price on Wii. Then next week it is back up to full price.
I think these shops are trying new ways to encourage people shopping and spending big at one time. Only stuff that doesn't sell off shelves goes to the bargain bins.
I sometimes look at online stores like dvdcrave.com.au, ebay, gamewarehouse.com.au for better deals.
