Good question.
Ive always wanted to ask an actor something similar - Have they ever thought, half way through making a film, that the film is utter crap and going to bomb and possibly ruin their career?!
I'm sure the Devs do realise its crap; If they dont then they shouldn't be making games. They just have to release it to make some money back.
