Presentation and story in Alan wake is great. As is the action, even it slightly repetitive...
But you really found alan wake more tense than something like...Silent Hill 2 and Eternal Darkness?...hell even Limbo?
The fact that you are in par with Rambo and can shoot better than Clint Eastwood and John Wayne combined...and have things like slow mo and flash bangs to get you out of trouble kills the tension for me.
Also, the fact that you read the pages which tell you exactly what is ahead doesn't help either.
Doobie_wop above with his post has the right idea...its a great game, and I hope the sequel gets made...so they can improve it. Its still flawed in a lot of areas and they can definetly get a lot more out of the world they created.
