Maybe there should be a topic on portrayal of Asperger's Syndrome. I'm diagnosed with it by the way. I've yet to see a 'normal' portrayal, only exaggerated ones. Makes good TV, but hardly helps awareness. |
I know. Take Grey's Anatomy for exampole. They had a character with Asperger's but it seemed like the writers just googled "Asperger's Syndrome" saw the symptoms and made a character having all of them. They never seem to make such charatcers be liek real people. This is what bugs me about american TV shows. A lot of characters whose entire personality revolves around their sexual orientation/religious beliefs/mental disorders.
