Also I know what you mean, I'm only 17, 18 in september and going into my Freshman year of college but I'll be commuting to save on costs :P And I've been using this SD TV forever, however I have experienced the awesomeness of HDTV because my parents have a 46" Sony XBR2 in the living room.

as for pricing, i don't really know , i bought one ages ago , it was an okay price but now they're cheaper compared.
