Hmm its funny that the PS3 and Xbox 360 are about identical when it comes to the relative ratings of their million sellers. The Wii seems to be somewhere in the middle between the 360 and the DS although it does seem to be skewed over more to the DS. I guess this isn't about the demographics of the audience, its more about whether or not the audience likes violent games and the kind of violence they like.
With the DS I suspect its more about the complete inability to really portray violence which causes the skew relative to the Wii. I suspect the 3DS will be more normalised and comparable to the Wii. With the Wii, I think the presence of zombie shooting games as the million sellers indicates that the audience is much more tolerant of violence towards non human enemies.
