What do you think of this case:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129024

$130 incl shipping?

on second thought people are saying it is very quiet. How good should the PSU be? Also what do you think about my motherboard and cpu choice?

To make a system within your budget including Windows 7 right?

Generally the case is something thats up to the individual. My Antec P182 is so quiet that I sometimes turn it off accidentally trying to turn it on. The Antec Sonata is a very good quality case and the PSU included is also pretty top notch as well and quite power efficient. Overall its good value.

For the CPU/Motherboard I use the rule of the thumb at the moment of Motherboard CPU = Video card costs. So I figure something like:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103882

= $175 for a quad core Athlon II 2.9Ghz Asrock motherboard with USB 3.0

goes well with this video card:

HD 5770 $149 with a $15 MIR card.

That should give anyone more than enough 3D performance for any modern game with a normal sized monitor.

Then you add 4GB RAM for $82

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231253

640 GB HDD with $20 off with promo code: EMCYWYP32

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136319

$55 incl promo

Sony optical drive:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827118039

$20

And it comes to: $612 shipping with $15 mail in rebate to use if you want.

Windows 7 is unfortunately another $99 if you can't get it free.

$712 is the full total on my first attempt. I can cut it down somewhat if you want without compromising things too badly.

Tease.
