I think the biggest problem is that pre-election, people acted like he was some kind of prophet who would, if he became president, somehow magically solve all things wrong in the US, and they'd all be headed toward some golden age of fuzzy happiness.
The world doesn't work like that, and Obama's only human. I think he's done pretty well so far, all things considered, but whether he'll be re-elected is anyone's guess right now. We'll see.
