Halo 3 was to floaty, it was ugly, had bad level design, the AI was stupid, the universe is overrated, the character design is uninspired, the guns were boring, the vehicle sections remind me of HAZE and Master Chief is a dick. If Halo: Reach fixes all those problems then I'd probably consider playing it.
Killzone 2 had too many dude bros, Visari died, the first games story wasn't explained to well to newcomers, Rico, too much gray and red, online co-op could have helped and Rico should have had a rocket shoved up his ass. If all these problems are fixed, then I'd most likely play Killzone 3.
As far as popularity goes, Halo 3 had a marketing budget that went well over $200 million, anything with a budget like that is guaranteed to be the most popular. Shamwow is a horrible product, but due to the amount of ads it has, it sells extremely well. The general public don't have the time or the interest to look up every game that's being released within the year and then compare them, they pretty much rely on whatever's ads are being run on their TV's, radios, magazines, skyscrapers and Mountain Dew cans. Dudebros don't care about quality and aren't exactly a great source for determining what is quality.
Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.
