Ending matters no matter how much people may not think so....it's just one aspect however. Ending is just like graphics, story, art direction, uniqueness etc etc. For a game to be GREAT it needs a good combination of those so yes the ending does matter.

Maybe for RPGs which you play for the story...But name me a AAA action game with a good ending.

God of War 1 had one of the most epic and satisfying endings I have ever seen in a videogame. That's not the only reason why I think it's a great game. It's a game that did everything right: gameplay, story, graphics, sound...etc. sometimes endings do matter if a game has a lot going for it. that's how I see it.

I played God of War just recently on the PS3 so uderstandably, I wasn't impressed by the graphics. I'm sure they were top notch for 2005, however. But yes, everything else about that game was spectacular. The ending was epic and is one of my favorites.
