The only reason it wasn't very well received and probably why you didn't like it...is because its not beginner freindly. If you are just starting to play the game, an experienced player will flat out demolish you. And not just beat you...but beat you with style, embarass you as well as taunt at the end. I was late in to geting in to this game...and got my ass handed to me by friends so many times. But i kept at it, and boy am i glad I did. A lot of people were turned off by this but it was the right evolution for the series. Sales wise, turning off potential customers isn't smart though, and hence why people see it as a failure. However I have yet to meet a street fighter pro that doesn't think SF3::3rd strike is by far the most balanced and deepest 2D fighter ever made. |
Amen to this! SF3: TS was aimed at the core SF players. It is perhaps the deepest 2D SF fighting system along with SF4's focus attacks. Ever since watching Daigo (Ken) hand Justin Wong's (Chun-Li) ass to him with a full parry ground, to air parry at the end to combo and end with his own super, I was compelled to learn to parry that good.......still not fully successful as my timing is a little off by the pause to the second round of kicks. Damn I might have to borrow my friend's 360 then to play against you Disolitude, unless you magically produce a PS3 with SF3.
Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)
I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/ hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.
