Like I said earlier the third one wasnt broken. The warranty was extended in late 2007 not 6 months after release. Tough, if he would have keep the broken one he could had gotten free repairs. When they decided to extend to 3 years RROD it also applied to system bought before. Between, its still possible to purchase extended warranty on Xbox 360 even today since the 3 years cover only RROD, rest is 1 year as usual.
