Whaaa?? I upgraded my PC back in early May alongside installing Windows 7, and I think I've restarted my PC once since doing so. I have yet to have an issue with any slowdown, outside of occasionally having to restart Firefox (which is probably due to the fact that I have like 100 tabs open and Firefox has that silly ram glitch >_>). Windows 7 is really something else. I'm incredibly impressed by how streamlined and optimized it is compared to Vista. It uses less resources for most tasks, and somehow avoids becoming a bloated ram hog the longer you leave your PC on, which was a major problem with older versions of Windows. I absolutely love it. Granted, I haven't had much experience with Linux or OSX to compare. I plan to format the HDD from my old build and mess around with Ubuntu in the near future, since I've always wanted to check it out. |
well i have had win 7 since last year and i only changed to ubuntu this month, to be honest win7 is fast at first, but it did get slow on me just as xp did to me before it... about 10mins to load up properly, where ubutu is up and running within a minute....
you should try out ubuntu 10, it's definately stating to get much better, i did try going linux about 2 years ago and it was still awkward back then, but ubuntu 10 detected all my drivers i needed for me, the only trouble i had was installing flash for x64, but there are guides for that which make it easier, also now i have wine so i can still play on some of my games:):) it's so easy to use now i love ubuntu:):)
