Fact:the holidays are times for purchasing presents, If someone is purchasing a system and told the gift is sold out or on the waiting list.....how many will resort to an Xbox(since it is in stock? If this happens and Wii is out, the tide may turn. I know you are all saying BS the wii will win, I have a wii, but how can they win if the systems are not available and peole resort to buying a 360 at a reduced price of $249 or a 299 or 399 packaged deal?

I can tell you about the situation in germany right now:

The Wii is still hard to find and the 360 premium is available with two classic games (Kameo, PDZ or PGR3) for a price of 299€, while the Wii is 249€ including Wii sports. The Wii is hot and the 360 not. The Wii sells at a much faster rate.

Most people that look for a Wii want to play Wii sports and other motion sensing games and the 360 is no option for that. So these people would either wait until they can get a Wii or wouldn't buy any console at all.

This situation could be different in the USA, where the 360 has its strongest ground, but I doubt that many people looking for a Wii would buy a reduced 360 instead if they can't find a Wii.

Your thread title does not say whether it's USA-only or worldwide, but either way I would say that Wii wins the holidays. On a worldwide basis with ease, in the USA the 360 will give some challenge, but the lineup for the Wii this year has much more diversity than the 360's.

You have valid point, but I was talking of the Holiday season..people have the attitude here of.If I don't get a present I will be a bad person/parent.....People might pick up a 360 and say.if you don't like it we will take it back type of attitude....Its all in the holiday season, pricing availability/titles etc. but if it isnt available at a HLIDAT TIME???? we dont know what will happen. We all know how chatic shopping can be around these times.
