You could blame it on the flashes. You could blame it on the players not knowing what they were doing.  You could make any excuses to defend kinect. Or simply  you could just blame it on Kinect being a load of (censored ) that's more concept than substance.

no, you can't blame the players, because kinect was advertised as: "everyone can just step in front of it and join the fun, no experience required"

Kinect wasn't designed to be taken on stage with the flashing lights and intense atmosphere,
