i don't like any of the two, but that is how i see it.

actually her weird-like image was manufactured and the reason she does eletropop too.

britney was a discovered girl, from lousina, and could sing (her younger ages), production only happen when she turned sexy, and finally getting decent producers.

i don't disagree with your statement, but i should have been more elaborate with mine.

i have no doubt Britney has talent, that was probably the reason she was chosen for the "product"  but she is only part of that bigger picture. someone writes songs, someone makes the choreographies, someone designs the outfits... she presents it all in the end, but someone else decides about it.

And of course Lady Gagas style was manufactured, but that was mainly by herself, she has control over the product that she has chosen to be.  

gaga, predebut wasn't a weirdo fashion women like she is now, so i believe label had a hand on it.

britney doesn't write all her songs that's true, but she works along side the producers, and songs are written especially since her third album (which wasn't good either sold millions).

for a while weird is the new cool. from katy to kesha, they seem to get popular now
