My first RPG was Chrono Trigger. I had nothing else to compare it to but that game's story was so involving at the time, took so many twists, hit me with such an unexpeted tragedy, and tied everything up so flawlessly that I still regard it as one of the best games ever made. I'm a little afraid to go back and play it.
MGS3 in my humble opinion is the greatest game ever made. No other game has illicited the emotional response that MGS3 did. I was damn near in tears the first time those end credits rolled. I couldn't even move.
And, of course, there's Street Fighter. Sometimes months would pass between the time I play a game in that series. Sometimes, years would pass. Still, even if I can't remember a character's backstory, moves, or even their name, my fingers remember. My hands know the moves and my reflexes can still predict what my oponent will do. Just slap a six button controller in my hand and stand back. Somebody's gettin' their ass kicked.
