Holy Crap someone who agrees with me that they pinnacled on FF VI and Chronotrigger. FF VII was a disappointement for me after playing Chronotrigger and FF VI had to take a few years and another try to appreciate it it isn't that bad but VIII yuck that was like a complete meltdown I kept giving it a chance and I even gaveit anotehr chance later on but the game and story were so dull I gave up after te space station on each attempt I lost interest. Now IX gave em a glimmer of the older FFs it was all that new or fresh but IMO it is how VII should of been at the very least...However after that I gave up on the FF franchise and was afraid to touch X or XII(aka Final Fantasy: The Phantom Menace) because well I didn't want to ruin the series and XIII looks even worse but maybe it will be good and if it is I will be first in line.
Between the Movies(FF:The Spirit Within and FF VII) the spin offs (Dirge of Cerebus) and other things that SE has done I have been incredibly let down by the company that gave me Secret of Mana, FF 1-3 (american), and Chronotrigger. they really aren't that bad but they are just a shade of what they used to be but you got admit they make up for it in terms of CGI and look. |
A crapload of people feel that way. The SNES is still the best RPG console because of those two games and other Square Classics, and Enix Classics and a few other game company classics that were mostly bought by square. (Like Quest). Square-Enix is a combination of my 3 favorite RPG makers... yet, sucks so hard.
