Read the comment by the FDNY spokesperson

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/brooklyn/emt_duo_on_break_let_preg_mom_die_mrj8Jv8kjmS0Z3FNO4DmiL

And in case you don't want to go to link this is what he said......

"All of our members take an oath to assist others in need of emergency medical aid. They have a duty to act when called," said FDNY spokesman Steve Ritea.

So YES he HAD to help.

Did you ignore my post from before where it said that he did not have to help unless he was "on the clock"?

umm did you not read wht the spokesman said? The oath is regardless of on the clock...the asshole was obviously in uniform..the spokesmans comment really wraps up the "on the clock" debate. We have a friend in the family that is a cop, he said that if something happens wether they are on the clock or not they HAVE to help...in the oath, part of the job.

You believe everything that spokespeople say?  So, all the tobacco lobbyists years ago saying smoking tobacco products were not harmful to your health must be right then?

I could probably come up with a dozen or so relative "spokesman" posts for modern day things as well, I'm just too lazy at the moment.  If you believe everything a spokesperson says then, well, sir you are very gullible.

No i'm not, you must have missed my post when I said my friends brother is an EMT and even he said they have to help.
