In my youth, I beat some of gamings hardest titles (Battletoads, Ninja Turtles, Bayou Billy, Ninja Gaiden) but I think that anybody could beat those games if they are persistent enough. My crowning moment was when I beat Emerald and Ruby Weapon in FF7. In retrospect, it wasn't that big of a deal because everybody can beat them, too. I just felt incredibly proud of myself when I put together a strategy to beat those two and after hours of trying, it finally paid off!
Honorable mention for Super Metroid. I had beating that game in record time down to a science. Then, I bought the strategy guide and realized that I knew secrets that even they didn't know.
