Can I Platinum Demon's Souls without the Online component?

There has been talk about the DS servers having an announced demise and so I would like to know if once the servers are down I won't be able to get that pretty platinum trophy. I don't want to search for trophies descriptions for the game in order to prevent possible spoilers so I can't look for this info myself, that's why I am asking you fellow PS3 owners.
