He's just a kid. Don't be so hard on him. I'd ask if you remember how you were at his age, but you don't sound much more mature yourself.
Mario, Metroid and Zelda are some of the best games of their genres, and most gamers like at least one or two of them. Aside from that the console is actually affordable, doesn't require a new TV to get the full experience, and offers an interesting new controller for those of us who've played with the same old gamepad style ever since Nintendo invented it. The games are also not in HD, therefore much cheaper to make, and don't suffer from the under 10 hour curse most big 360/PS3 games do. Third parties are obviously taking their time, but they'll only start getting more interested as time goes by.
