why do you think the story will be short? there are 26 missions (i think). the story will basically be what is in between those missions.
an average shooter has less than 20 missions/levels/whatever. the story is usually mostly told between the missions there as well.
if anything, i think blizzards RTS' tell more story than shooters do. The Warcraft 3 story over the three campaigns was pretty long. there are longer games, story wise, than Warcraft 3 for sure, but those are 90% RPGs, not shooters or action games.
