What exactly has my family got to do with it? and I don't care about money over life, not that, that would be going through my mind at the time anyway.

If you are married with a house that has a white picket fence and a dog, and a freshly manicured lawn with 3 little children and a loving wife.... with a mortgage...

You get sued and lose all your savings plus your wages are garnished to pay for the injury you caused I can almost guarantee that your family will suffer for it ie:Can't pay mortgage on house,, lose your home, etc.  Most marriages fall apart due to money issues which would lead to other stuff, kinda like a domino effect...

Anyhow, that is probably the worst case scenerio.. And like I said, I am a very cynical person, hopefully it wouldn't happen, but I am a very cynical and pessimistic person :)

I'm not though, so don't make assumptions.
