The thing is without their heavy hype and publicity Kinect would probably not work, which isnt the case of Move. Microsoft and Sony doesnt need to market both product the same way. Sony have lot more games to show, is working closer to concept and is more precise in what it does. Its also more affordable (most consumers doesnt count extras) even though manufacturing/shipping cost for Move/Eyetoy is obviously higher then Kinect. Move needs hype and publicity but just not as much as Kinect, Sony/Microsoft knows that, they are acting accordingly.

Completely agree.  I'm sure Sony will pump up the ad campaign soon enough, but Move is mostly going to sell on its own merits and games.  Kinect, however, needs much more hype.  I think once word of mouth spreads to the public that its not incredibly accurate, has trouble capturing black clothes/people, it can't be used unless you either stay standing up or sitting down, and the amount of gaming experiences are going to be very limited, then the sales will fall.
