I hadn't realized WiiFit was necessary for multiplayer on the Wii.

I think that the comparison with Wii and WiiFit is good.  Every week WiiFit sells to 50% of the new Wii sales.  The fitness market is huge for the Wii. Impression after impression of Kinect mentions it will make you sweat.
