Wait what? Xbox online was lousy and you had to pay for something that was worse then what you could get on PC for free in 1998. Their were a few very good first party games on the GCN but overall they were horrible. (super mario sunshine anyone? worst mario platformer?) And I still don't find the PS2 game variety as good as they said.... PC gaming was where it was at from 1998-2006, and it was pretty much all of the gaming I did. Now, PC gaming is sadly dying again. Most of the games are just Xbox 360 ports and there are very few actually good games, the only ones I'm looking forward to are Half-Life 2: Episode 3, Portal 2 and Spore. You're so crazy :P P.S. 16 bit generation > this generation > last generation > 8 bit generation > 32/64 bit generation |
I think you're confused, PC was shining in 1998-2001 , but in 2002 it started declining and declining so that 2005-2007 were the worst years of PC gaming in terms of titles, even though we still got some amazing exclusives (Company of Heroes, WoW, World in Conflict, Witcher, etc...)
But, due to more affordable modern PC's and rise of downloadable services, the PC gaming is being risen right now and is looking to outperform any console in 2008. There are over 10 AAA PC exclusives coming out 2008, and the PC will most likely outshine the consoles again:
- The most amount of AAA exclusives
- The most amount of Multiplatform games
- PC is snatching several single-console games from PS3 (Heavy Rain, Agent, etc..), 360 (Alan Wake, Fable 2, etc..) and Wii (Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, casual games, etc...)
- Rise of old PC franchises (Starcraft, Jagged Alliance, Disciples, Fallout, etc...)
- Best versions of games.
2008 is PC year.
