I hope they've signed a deal for a new IP, and aren't just working on other SCEE projects like they were before. The OP makes it sound as if that is the case, given the status quo has certainly changed. I agree that The City of Metronome looked crazy awesome, andI would like to see what these guys are really capable of.
I gotta say, SCEE have really stepped their game up this gen. They've thus far bought Guerrilla Games, Evolution Studios, and Media Molecule, plus signed deals with Quantic Dream and Tarsier Studios. In terms of internal studios, they've grown from four to seven, actually passing up SCEA to become Sony's largest development arm (as they only have six studios).
I believe Sony is the largest and most diverse development arm in the European region at the moment. They definitely have a stronger presence in the UK than any other development house, given they have six studios in that country alone.
