IDG and NPD do marketshare numbers quarterly for Mac. I have access to a the last decade or so if you need them, thanks to my work. Though I imagine they can be compiled from other sources as well. I think the numbers I can get are more US oriented though. PM me if if you want me to pass along anything specific. I'll double check tomorrow about what I can and can't share technically these reports are confidential, but I think the percentages are fair game, especially if they are publicly released. Also...
Apple also releases raw sales numbers which I'm sure could be compared against public data to get a good idea, especially since they break it down in to Americas, EU/Others , JPN and Asia/Pacific. They also provide a laptop/desktop split. I will say that the latest NPD I read put Apple at 9.8% (abouts) marketshare U.S. with something like 25% laptops and 5% desktops share. Of course those obviously omit iPhone/iPod and iPad. IDG put them a bit lower at something like 8.8% US.Not sure if I read far enough to hear IDG's desktop/laptop breakdown.
