I think it was a 4 star movie, out of 4. It was better than Sunshine, if that gives you any insight into my review relative to recent sci-fi films. It was lightyears better than the new Star Trek, which was very good in and of itself.

I think it is Nolan's best movie, edging out Momento, and again, lightyears better than Batman Begins or TDK. The subelty Nolan weaves into his characters....it's like watching an entire season of a sci-fi show in one movie. Epic and evolutionary. I think it's bound to at least be nominated, it not win, best picture, best screenplay, and best director this year. Write it down, this is a masterpiece.

I respect your opinion about the movie. I think we look for different things in our science fiction movies. It didn't have what I was looking for... But it is a technical masterpiece.

I think many people are goign to be vowed with this film as Nolan took a 100-150 million dollar production and made it in to a movie worth watching for the story and one that engages the mind. This is not a frequent occurance in holwood.

But I don't think it will win many oscars. Other than special effect which is a shoe in...

Reason for this is that most of the top critics are not feeling it as much as the general public.

Even the positive reviews have quotes like this...

"Pretty good, not bad, but brilliant it surely ain’t"

and

"With its James Bond-on-acid action scenes and puzzle-within-a-maze-within-a-puzzle mind games, Inception is certainly the most daring and original blockbuster of the year, as well as a visual tour de force. If it only had a heart."

Make no doubt about it, it won't win many Oscars simply because of its genre.

EDIT: And btw, what's up with all the Batman bashing in this thread?
