That's not true. There have been reports of the RROD. But it is no longer a ring, it is just a solid red eye now.
Also reports of bricks failing as well.
Just like any piece of technology there is errors and bugs. Just because you get a newer edition of that technology it doesn't mean that all of the issues are 100% gone.
