This is something I noticed quite some time ago when some douchey morning TV host was trying out Ricochet. He loosened his suit jacket, and as he moved his torso around, the jacket would swirl around his hips and the sensor would freak out.
It might be possible to compensate with some super-clever algorithms, but it's obviously a pretty big challenge for the technology. Some people are going to get bad first impressions from this, but it's not unlike solar reflections messing with the wiimote's IR. That problem doesn't seem to have impacted the market much.
