not really a surpise. for the last year pretty much every time we get a report of kinect failing to reconize someone you can generally identify some sort of issue with that person's outfit that changes their humanly shape.
remember when kinect failed to reconise matt lauer (wearing a loose suit jacket) on the Today show and then the next day they showed kinect on jimmy fallon and they put everyone in speed suits.
