Why are the sales of an MMO brought up?

Success is counted in number of suscribers.... Every year, each suscriber has paid about the price of 2 fully priced games in fees.... so 200K suscribers is probably the equivalent of a 1.5M selling regular game (with price decrease), revenue wise.

Actually, most people that actually play FFXI and get a job above at least 60 has more than one character.  I believe I had my main, my alt, and four mules so I was paying an extra $6 a month.

Holy ****, four mules ? ... okay I had like 3 and I was just lvl 89 cooking ... :<

Not great money, but at least I never paid for my food.

Am i the only one that dont know what ye are talking about?, and here i was planining on getting this game as my first MORPG but ye all make it sound so complixe (Spelling wrong im drunk muhahha)

Mules are characters that people buy to hold their stuff. These are completely optional. But are useful is some cases. They only cost 1 extra dollar on your monthy bill in both XI and XIV.
