Peak Oil and depopulation of the human population in the 21st century is the biggest threat facing humanity. The whole human population is solely dependent upon Oil. The world is struggling to support the needs of 7 billion. The economic system could only really support up to 4 billion people.
Starvation due to lack of food will reduce population in developing nations. The cold winters will freeze people in the Winters. Only the richest will survive but without Oil it is back to the Dark Ages.
Slow down the Oil supply = Slow down the food supply = Depopulate the world's population.
Starve off the world's population and reduce the population down and there may be a chance for the richest people to survive at the expense of the poor. Oil supply could be maintained through population control measures by the New world Order.
