I'm not sure how somebody could be a skeptic of peak oil. They just might be skeptical about when peak oil will occur.
Even people who believe in abiotic oil must understand that it's a geological process, just like the conventional theory of how oil is formed. There's just no way that the planet Earth can produce oil at a rate that matches consumption when humans tear through accessible supplies in a matter of a couple centuries.
