About 3 years ago I started looking into the problem of the US decline. Trying to figure it out. I finally did. The real problem with America, is the mindset of the it's people. I asked this simple question on many forums, including this one:

If you could rate human quality of life on a scale of 1 to 100. 1 being the worst, and 100 being the best, would you rather live in a world where the best was 100, and the worst was 60, or the best was 45 and the worst was 40?

Shockingly, more people picked the second option.

Take care everyone :)

#1 to do a poll on the US you ask internet forums, including a UK based forum with a very wide international population.... ermm ok

#2 Either that is not the exact question you asked or there was some reason for which people made a joke answer or people are just plain stupid (this is the internet after all).... it's morronic to choose B when the best of B is lower than the worst of A... well not morronic, worse, retarded.

#3 you leave in one year and you already say goodbye? isn't that a bit premature (especially since there are plenty of ausies and NZies on the site...

#4 i'd try the NZ adventure too...if I didn't have familly and career perspectives that I value a lot... maybe for retirement? :p

There are valid reasons for chosing B, though I personally wouldn't. Basically the argument can be made that peoples happiness due to quality of life depends not on absolute quality of life but on relative quality. It's not retarded to choose it.
