not even suspected of not helping someone in need? (in france it's a crime to not help someone who is in danger), I mean, did the guy call the cops directly? did he actually do as others said here and finished the job although she was dead, or dying? the fact that he was doing a married woman already tells a bit on his morals, so these are not things that should have been ruled out.
