Not really, turn based games (JRPGs) they focus on grinding. If time is a big part of difficulty/skill, than JRPG's have plenty. The issue is expecting something from a game that it cannot deliver. What challenge can you expect if you go above and beyond and grind for hours upon hours? Want a "challenge" than do low level playthroughs, that's what real pros do. Personally, I find that stuff boring.
When I game JRPG's, I waste tons of time on building characters up levels, far beyond what they need to be at. I just like doing it, I dunno why. But there is plenty of things in JRPG's that take skill, dedication, and mastery to accomplish. People need to stop looking at a few bad games as the typical JRPG. Most RPG's arent hard either, and if they are it's cause of trophies and them wanting you to play for ages, not cause it's truly hard like Wipeout HD or something..
