I've seen enough to know that's a load of crap. The 5.5" guideline is about right. The real problem with things is that most guys measure their own member incorrectly, in a way that would add length that's not actually present. I recall being very slightly over average myself upon last measurement (and I did follow the measuring guidelines, so...), but I can't lie in that I have a certain... obsession, that would like for myself to be bigger...
