its a leap to think people that watch top gear have an interest in gaming.
Of the half dozen guys I am in business with, all of which watch top gear, only one is interested in gaming... me. The rest have zero interest. I also think the star in a car test track section is the least interesting and amusing part of the whole show.

its a leap to think that the other 349,999,994 viewers have the same lack of interest in games as your friends.
@OT of course they will show it on Top gear if they have before they certainly will now that they are in it. They advertise and promote a fair bit. like when guy ritchie came on they showed the trailer for his new film or katy price's new book they talk into it a bit.

Yes it is... but I didnt say that did I. The point was that the demographic of the Top Gear viewers and gamers are not in any way linked and so I doubt it would makes much difference.
I will bet you any amount of money that Top Gear do NOT "advertise and promote a fair bit", your analogy of the stars promoting their latest film or book is irrelevant, it is the star promoting their book/movie not top gear.
What they may do is a feature where perhaps they get Stig to drive a car around a track and then Jeremy may 'drive' the same virtual car around the track at the same time. That will be the only type of thing they would be allowed to do.

I bet more people watching Top Gear will be more interested in hearing about a game with similarities too what the viewers like such as sports cars and tracks including Top gears own test track with stig, than katie price's book bloody book.
if its not what you were hinting at then I don't know why you added your mates aren't interested in games, it was clearly an irreivant comment.

It was as relevant as saying 350m watch it and may be interested in GT5.
I'd also argue that Top gear is more of a light entertainment program these days than a motoring show - they even admit that themselves. It has zero to do with "motorsport and tracks" for example. Its a program that tries to entertain, usually in a humerous way, where cars are a part of that entertainment.
Top Gear has changed a great deal over the years I have watched it. Fifth gear on Channel 5 is more what Top gear used to be, but even that is now trying to do a "Top Gear" recently.

Top gear has changed a fair bit and has gone more entertainment, but at heart its still about cars from top end sports cars to average cars , I still think it would be a good idea to have it on the show, like maybe do the Top gear track in replay mode with exactly the same camera angles side by side and compare with with an actual track

- kind of like that, but with the same camera angles as when they show stig round the lap.
