They simply have a lot of it. But they don't use nearly as much, so they sell a lot of it for other countries like the USA and still keep enough for themselves. They make a lot of money selling it outside so they don't tax their own economy with the burden of expensive gas.

what's the average salary in venezuela? or the average cost of a small home?

i'm just wondering, so that i can put the cost of gas into better perspective
