But Sony's problem won't so much be Apple as the dozen other companies who will be flogging Android-based iPad clones this time next year. It is going to be a hard crowd to stand out in, and I don't expect any of the hardware manufacturers will win big.

Well the only winner would really likely be Android and Google. Its the same deal with the PC market, its the guy providing the OS who'll be the biggest winner on the day. Beyond Android theres also Windows CE, Web OS HP and various Linux/Atom devices whom will all be looking for a slice of that pie.
