Nope it doesn't stand at all. The value of a 2nd console is far less than the first, especially in an age where the consoles themselves are networked. You can't access Xbox Live on the PS3, you can't play with your Xbox 360 friends on the PS3, if you have games on the PS3 which are good for local play you can't justify the purchase of a 2nd controller to take advantage of them as easily. You don't get achievements playing a PS3 game and the same applies in reverse if the PS3 is your primary console and the 360 is your secondary console.
Naturally anyone who gravitates towards one would see much lower value in the other, hence bias. Even splitting your time between the two consoles is an inconvenience to the average person.
