I thought it's just that ppl don't hype about DS games. (Doesn't mean there aren't games on it...)

Thats probably part of it, handheld games never get the same attention as console ones, but DS has a 1/2 to a 1/3 of the number of games each console has. Meaning the consoles get a lot of shovelware which brings their overall percentage down.
