Uh, you've got it backwards. The PSP's piracy make people buy the system, regardless of whether they need to buy the software or not. The software sales are irrelevant, since they don't need to buy the game, they just download it. Piracy increases the PSP (hardware) sales. I know people in America that bought the PSP only because they could download games on it.
The DS has its own piracy problems though, so this "advantage" is more or less cancelled out.
On topic, I'm glad people reject the glasses technology, not a big fan of it myself. I can't say I prefer the 3DS, since I've never seen it in action, but I do hope it looks better.
