http://www.abiresearch.com/press/1203-Consumers Delaying Blu-ray Player Purchases

"A new consumer survey from ABI Research has revealed a widespread reluctance to commit to a Blu-ray player in the near future: over half of the 1000 respondents, citing “other priorities,” say they have no plans to purchase one; a further 23% are likely to buy, but not until sometime in 2009."

Happens all the time with new tech.

Aversion to Glasses on the other hand is not going to change even with time

People will get used to it I think.

Anyway I'm not a fan of 3D myself so I have no difficulty at all to believe this survey.

Not if Nintendo shows them a glasses free future

Actually Nintendo is working for Sony adventage this time. N is bringing 3d tech into affordable price range thus creating much more widespread 3d aware userbase.

But what about glasses ? Well the glasses are here to stay for next few years. Sharp 3D technology used in 3DS offers extremly limited view angle which means it can only ever be used for LCD monitors and portable devices. To actually play using family tv with friends they will have no other choice then accepting glasses or nothing.

So unless someone invents how to make glassless 3d for more than 1 person (which at the moment seems to be impossible using current display technologies).
